Community is one of the most important parts of the IT industry. In most countries, different IT communities are highly developed and you are able to attend different kinds of conferences and meetups where experts share their knowledge and help others. That is the reason why I started with AWS User Group in Bosnia (Mostar) in 2016, to help others through user group meetups learn more about AWS and cloud, but also to give my contribution to the community in my country.
Through meetups, I had a chance to meet many amazing people. So, it is not just about talking about technical stuff, it’s even more about meeting new people, visiting different countries and cities and making connections with people who share the same passion and interests. There are multiple AWS user groups all around the world, and the AWS community is really awesome, with many great people willing to help and share their experience and knowledge. If you don’t have a local AWS user group, don’t wait on others to start one, you can do it. If you have any questions or concerns about how to start, feel free to ping me and I will be more than happy to help you.
Nowadays, AWS community in Bosnia has expanded to three AWS user groups in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, and Mostar. We are looking forward to expanding it to more cities, and to include more people. I am proud to say that we are the largest IT community in Bosnia and one of the largest AWS community in the Balkan. You can find more about activities of the AWS community in Bosnia and Herzegovina on our web page awsbosnia.com and on the meetup pages of the groups.
We would be more than happy to have you as a guest in one of our next user group meetups. Feel free to join our groups on their meetup pages and slack workspace.
